The WARING Family Bakery
We are family…
We are a fourth-generation family business established in 1932 by Lawrence Webster Waring. We still trade today from the original family home in Armour Road where it all began and now have six shops open Monday – Saturday.
Our small skilled teamwork through the night in our bakehouse at the rear of our Spencers Wood shop using traditional recipes & hand-crafted techniques passed on through the family before our drivers deliver fresh to our shops & your homes.
As a direct result of Covid-19, we revisited our roots, returning to how it all began, delivering our tasty baked goods direct to the door minus the Hovis style bike! Please check our online shop.

The bakery has always been in my life, my earliest memories are sneaking into the cake decorating room and eating offcut pieces of cake out of the bin! Not much has changed(!)
I love working as part of our family business, something my Grandad did, his Dad started and now alongside my Dad and so many members of the family. I started my career as a confectioner and now work across the business whether it be decorating cupcakes, juggling a million projects or trying not to eat cake!
