We’d like to reassure you that the date on your product was a best before date, not a use by date. All our products are baked fresh to order using traditional methods, without relying on artificial preservatives or long-life packaging. This means they don’t carry long shelf lives like many mass-produced goods — something we’re actually proud of.
Best before dates are a guide to quality rather than safety. While the texture or freshness might start to decline slightly after this date, the product is still perfectly safe to eat. The only dates that must be strictly followed for safety reasons are use by dates, which apply to highly perishable items — ours don’t fall into that category.
