30–35 hours per week, worked
as 5 shifts over 6 days (Monday–Saturday), with all shifts starting at 4am.  Days may vary slightly depending on production and delivery needs.

About the role

Warings Bakery is looking for
a proactive, reliable and friendly Driver / Packer to join our team.

This is a varied, hands-on
role. You'll slice, pack and label our bakery products, then deliver them to
our bakeries across Reading, to customers' homes and to our wholesale customers. You'll play a key part in making sure every order leaves us complete, correctly packed and beautifully presented and arrives safely and on time.

This role would suit someone
with a can-do attitude who takes real pride in their work, picks things up
quickly and enjoys working both independently and as part of a small team.

Key responsibilities

In the bakery

• Slicing bread and packing rolls, cakes and other bakery products with care and attention
• Labelling products carefully and accurately
• Checking every order to make sure it's complete and correct before it leaves
• Spotting and flagging any issues with orders, products or stock straight away
• Keeping track of labels and packaging and ordering more through the office when needed
• Preparing products for delivery and making sure they're stored and transported properly
• Keeping the packing and delivery area clean, tidy and organised

Out on deliveries

• Loading and unloading the delivery vehicle safely
• Delivering to our bakeries, customers' homes and wholesalers with friendly, professional service
• Making sure each customer has everything they need before you leave
• Building good relationships with our wholesale customers and dealing with any issues they raise
• Completing delivery paperwork or recording deliveries as required
• Carrying out basic vehicle checks and reporting any problems

Throughout

• Following food hygiene, health & safety and company procedures
• Representing Warings Bakery positively at all times

About you

• A confident, safe driver with a full UK driving licence
• Comfortable with early-morning starts across Monday–Saturday
• Physically fit and able to lift and carry bakery goods and delivery boxes
• Well presented and respectful with customers
• Happy working independently and as part of a team

Previous experience in a
bakery, food production, packing or delivery role would be an advantage, but full training will be provided.
